The Spirent AT-9025 is an ATM SmartCard designed specifically for monitoring and generating ATM network traffic. Its primary purpose is to test the performance and compatibility of various ATM backbones with high performance, ATM-to-LAN internetworking devices, xDSL devices, and LAN-to-ATM edge devices. This advanced SmartCard offers a wide range of capabilities, including, full-cell rate switch testing, full-duplex testing at the frame level, full wire-rate testing for switches and edge devices, and edge device signal testing at a high rate. The AT-9025 operates at a capacity of 25 Mbps and features a singular port density.
The AT-9025 supports several essential applications, such as SmartSignaling, SmartWindow, SmartApplications, SmartLib Programming Library, and ScriptCenter applications. It enables measurement of peak call rates and setup latency for SVCs, supports LANE testing with a maximum of 64 LECs, and provides comprehensive xDSL network analysis of end-to-end performance. With the AT-9025, users can achieve 8000 calls per second per port and handle a maximum of 8.38 million VCCs per port. It also offers extensive protocol support for various programs. One of the standout features of the SmartCard is its AAL5 frame payload that is defined fully, which facilitates efficient transmission on VCCs. Additionally, it supports frame latency measurements with a timestamp resolution of 100 ns.
The AT-9025 allows users to define the standard traffic contract parameters per VCC, based on either Constant Bit Rate or Unspecified Bit Rate traffic classes. It also comes equipped with the SmartBits SmartSignaling application, which supports UNI 3.0/3.1/4.0 signaling and performance benchmarking. This comprehensive testing functionality includes signal simulation for up to 8,388,606 simultaneous switched virtual connections per port, as well as performance benchmarking to measure peak call setup and teardown rate, call setup latency, and call handling capacity. Furthermore, the AT-9025 supports frame-level functional testing, including automatic VCC setup, generation of single/multiple cell size frames at full line rate, and encapsulation functionality.
The AT-9025 incorporates a range of counters capable of holding a maximum of 4.29 million counts individually. These counters provide valuable statistical information, including physical layer statistics, ATM layer statistics, AAL5 layer statistics, VCC connection statistics, triggers, and latency. Physical layer statistics encompass path error counters, section counters, line counters, and alarm status information reported to the user interface. ATM layer statistics include payload, corrected and uncorrected HEC errored cells, receive errors, and symbol errors. AAL5 layer statistics cover transmit and receive payload cells, receive frames, 32-Bit CRC errored frames, and receive length errored frames. Additionally, the AT-9025's VCC connection statistics maintain counter statistics for all active virtual circuits.
