The Spirent AT-9155C is a ATM OC-3c/STM-1 SmartCard that is utilized for ATM network traffic monitoring and generation. This SmartCard can be applied to a variety of applications, such as testing ATM-to-LAN internetworking devices, xDSL devices, LAN-to-ATM edge devices, and high-performance ATM backbones. Equipped with an extensive set of features, the AT-9155C enables frame-level testing at full-duplex, switch testing at full-cell rate, wire-rate testing of edge devices and switches, as well as high-rate signaling testing for edge devices.
The AT-9155C offers comprehensive protocol support for a wide range of functions and facilitates end-to-end performance analysis for xDSL networks. With a remarkable capacity, the AT-9155C supports up to 8.38 million VCCs per port, totaling 335.54 million VCCs in a 40-port ATM test suite. In SmartSignaling mode, it can handle a maximum of 800 calls per second per port, allowing for a total of 32,000 calls per second across a 40 ATM port test suite. Moreover, this SmartCard supports LANE testing with a maximum of 64 LECs, PP testing with up to 2,048 PPP sessions, and enables frame generation on up to 2,048 SVCs and PVCs. It is also capable of measuring peak call rate and setup latencies for SVCs in a SmartSignaling application.
The AT-9155C offers an array of powerful features for comprehensive testing. It includes frame latency measurement support with an impressive 100 ns timestamp resolution, ensuring compatibility with legacy LAN SmartCards. It allows users to define standard traffic contract parameters per VCC based on the selected traffic class. The AT-9155C features an AAL5 frame payload that can be fully customized, accommodating user-defined payload content, including custom formats, null encapsulation, PPP, classical IP, LLC/SNAP, and LANE capabilities. Additionally, it supports SmartSignaling test functionality, providing support for the benchmarking of UNI 3.0/3.1/4.0 performance and signaling.
The ATM frame-level testing capabilities of the AT-9155C automate VCC setup and allow for frame-level protocol definition per stream, supporting concurrent streams. It enables the single or multiple cell size frame generation at a full line rate and offers various encapsulation modes, such as null encapsulation, RFC 2364, RFC 1577, RFC 1483, and LAN Emulation Client 1.0. The AT-9155C also incorporates statistics functionality, with each counter capable of storing up to 4.29 million counts. All counters can display rates and events, providing insights into ATM layer statistics, VCC connection statistics, AAL5 layer statistics, and physical layer statistics.
