The DLS 6100 by Spirent is a Production Wireline Simulator specifically designed for efficient testing of xDSL modems during the production phase. This simulator offers versatile control options, allowing users to operate it either through the front panel or remotely. Its exceptional capabilities make it an invaluable tool for design verification and production testing purposes. The DLS 6100 excels at resolving interoperability challenges, establishing itself as the global standard for conformance testing and enjoying widespread adoption among modem developers, with a remarkable market share of 90%. This simulator is also adept at testing various local loop access products such as ISDN U-interface, DLC, DDS, as well as diverse xDSL systems including ADSL, HDSL2, and SHDSL applications.
The DLS 6100 has adjustable length functionality, offering increments of 500 feet (250 meters). With the ability to simulate cable lengths of up to 23,500 feet (6,000 meters), it enables comprehensive testing in a controlled environment. By utilizing passive circuitry, this simulator achieves a low noise floor and eliminates any additional noise generated by active components, ensuring highly accurate testing outcomes. The DLS 6100 boasts a usable bandwidth of up to 1.5 MHz. This simulator also exhibits impressive durability, withstanding a maximum DC peak AC of 500 volts between tip and ring. Moreover, it can sustain a continuous passage of 100 mA of sealing current, ring voltage, and loop current (line power). To facilitate integration into automated test systems, the simulator supports ScriptCenter and programming based on Standard Commands for Programmable Interfaces (SCPI) through the IEEE 488 or RS-232 interface. Alternatively, users can control it using the PC-based DLS 1100 graphical software control interface.
