This specialized personality board, when used in conjunction with the aforementioned test modules, offers the ability to generate highly realistic network traffic spanning Layer 2 to Layer 7 of the OSI network layers. Additionally, it facilitates comprehensive analysis of data frames, packet streams, and protocol metrics across each layer. With regards to characterization and testing, the GBT-4001A's 10GBASE-T functionality allows for the examination of 10Gbps communication over both unshielded and shielded twisted pair (UTP) copper in line with the 802.3an standard. This includes support for connectivity spanning up to 100 meters on CAT7 and CAT6A copper cables. The specified 802.3an standard encompasses a short reach mode of 55 meters, as well as a standard reach of 100 meters, catering to CAT6A Class E, Class F, and Augmented E (EA) cabling.
