The GSS5060 by Spirent is a cutting-edge GPS Location Simulator designed to provide precise and programmable simulation of GPS signals, along with their associated propagation effects. This advanced simulator incorporates integrated Position Determination Entity (PDE) algorithms, effectively emulating the location server component of a network. With its capability to generate highly accurate simulations, the GSS5060 accommodates all-in-view and multi-path environments, faithfully reproducing signal impairments such as multi-path and atmospheric effects.

One of the standout features of the GSS5060 is its all-digital L1 C/A code, which employs advanced modulation techniques to deliver exceptional repeatability, low phase noise, and code/carrier coherence. This simulator can support up to 12 signal channels, effectively catering to the demands of all-in-view and multipath scenarios. Additionally, the GSS5060 seamlessly integrates with SimLOCATE software, enabling the generation of highly accurate simulations for signals and associated propagation effects from up to 12 GPS satellites, across two independent locations. These locations include the mobile device under test and a static PDE reference receiver. By emulating the PDE reference receiver and directly providing reference data to the PDE, the SimLOCATE Virtual Receiver function significantly reduces testing time.

The GSS5060's SimLOCATE software boasts an advanced and dynamic GPS environment, incorporating real-time models for satellite constellations, satellite errors, atmospheric signal degradation, terrain obscuration, and multipath. With user-specified dates, time, and geographic locations, along with complete interactive control over individual satellite signal details, users have extensive flexibility in customizing their simulations. Furthermore, the SimLOCATE software features a comprehensive graphical user interface (GUI) display, providing real-time information such as sky plot, date/time, vehicle and PDE reference receiver position, received power levels, and satellite signal details.
