The Spirent LAN-3325A is a TeraMetrics XD module, designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern network systems, this advanced module offers Ethernet connections that are "dual media" on every test port, providing unparalleled flexibility and versatility. This module features four ports and is compatible with both a Gigabit Ethernet Fiber connection or a 10/100/1000 Mbps connection. The LAN-3325A seamlessly integrates with the SmartBits system, enabling the user to test high-speed internetworking across various technologies such as ATM or Packet over SONET interfaces.

The LAN-3325A’s compatible applications include network devices functional testing, measuring the maximum data plane performance (throughput, packet loss, average latency), evaluating specific control plane performance of network-embedded applications like routing, Multicast IP, MPLS, and security, and measuring the Layer 4 to 7 performance of devices such as IPSec VPNs, SSL accelerators, streaming media, load balancers, firewalls, and web servers. With its generation of wire-rate traffic and analysis capabilities at Layers 2 and 3, the LAN-3325A allows the user to produce networks that are largely routed by simultaneously running multiple protocols per port.

For Layer 4 to 7 testing, the LAN-3325A offers unparalleled realism by producing higher application traffic and supporting a wide range of protocols. With the ability to analyze information from CoS and DiffServ and transmit millions of IP flows, this module guarantees precise and accurate results. The LAN-3325A seamlessly integrates with the industry's most reliable performance test system, delivering results that meet the highest standards. Additionally, this module streamlines the reporting process by automatically generating test results in graphical or tabular format within compatible applications, allowing for easy export to other tools or systems.

The LAN-3325A is equipped with two connectors per test port, offering utmost convenience and flexibility. The user can choose between a 10/100/1000 Mbps connector and a Gigabit Fiber connector, which supports the use of SFP transceivers (multimode or single mode). The system software empowers the user to switch between Fiber and Copper configurations effortlessly. The Copper port can be set to operate at 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps, with options for half duplex or full duplex (limited to full duplex for 1000 Mbps operation). Furthermore, for enhanced security, the LAN-3325A offers firewall testing capabilities when used with a compatible application.
