Spirent PCG-3004BF

The Spirent PCG-3004BF is a Abacus 5000 PCG3 subsystem with a primary function to provide PCM circuits that effectively replicate the operations of a telephone exchange (central office) or a terminal. Moreover, the PCG-3004BF is capable of simulating E1 and T1 call generation and switching, with the ability to accommodate either 24 or 30 channels per circuit. Users have the flexibility to configure each channel as either terminating or originating, and during call generation mode, each channel undergoes a call setup and tear down process, along with a media script that encompasses the reception and transmission of audio files and signals.

The PCG-3004BF supports full-duplex E1 circuits of 4, 14, or 21, as well as full-duplex T1 circuits of 4, 14, or 28. It boasts compatibility with various applications including VoIP convergence for convergence testing, one-way delay measurements, verification of media and voice gateway functionality, dial-up connectivity checking, voice quality assessment, and call generation from a T1 or E1 link. Moreover, the PCG-3004BF is suitable for switching applications between interfaces, as well as for Voicemail and IVR applications involving the transmission and reception of account codes, traffic generation, and message replay. In PBXs, switches, and central offices, this subsystem aids in traffic creation and capacity determination.

The PCG-3004BF simplifies testing procedures for converged IP telephony and PSTN services and networks. It enables users to assess SS7, V.90 data modem, T.30 fax, and PSTN/IP ladder diagram performance and functionality. One notable advantage is its user flexibility in convergence testing, allowing analog, TDM, and IP analog measurements to be performed using the same user interface, resulting in cost savings. The PCG-3004BF offers a range of features, including graphical display of measurements over time, built-in protocol analyzers, support for custom protocols, flexible call sequences, programmable call progress tones, idle bit patterns, load profiling, and call tracer capabilities. It can conduct voice quality measurements on up to 96, 392, or 120 channels, as well as 14-circuit or 28/21-circuit setups using PSQM and PSQM+ methodologies.

The PCG-3004BF supports CAS, SS7 (ANSI, ETSI, ITU-T), ISDN PRI, MF R1/R2, SLC-96/TR08, and GR-303 configurations. It can detect and forward DTMF and MF R1/R2 pulse dialing signals. Notably, this subsystem can generate over 600,000 calls per hour and switch over 400,000 calls per hour. It encompasses a range of features such as SS7 event analysis, QSIG basic call support on ISDN PRI, voice quality measurements, and fax capabilities within a single setup. With GR-303 concentration, it supports up to 2048 logical channels and offers facility message support in PRI. When employing a V.90 data modem, the PCG-3004BF supports a maximum of 48 channels for 4-circuits and 112 channels for 14-circuits and 28/21-circuits.
