The SPT-11U by Spirent belongs to the HyperMetrics neXt series and is an 11U chassis designed to facilitate the testing of converged multi-service devices using test modules featuring Cloud Core processing. This particular chassis serves as a comprehensive system, integrating high-performance stateful traffic, high-scale routing, access, and mobile control plane functionalities. Its primary objective is to ensure the delivery of a seamless mobile multiplay experience. Notable features of the SPT-11U include 96 x 10 Gbps ports, allowing for scaling up to 960 Gbps of stateful data, accommodating 6 million mobile subscribers, and supporting 1 million BGP sessions.

The design of the SPT-11U is specifically tailored to handle complex multiprotocol scale and cloud virtualization testing requirements. Thsi chassis offers an ultra-high scale and possesses a green low-power per port capability, along with intelligent fan control. It provides full support for both IPv4 and IPv6 control, ensuring compatibility with diverse networking environments. By adopting a switched-Ethernet backplane design, the SPT-11U optimizes efficiency and performance access during test configuration and data collection. This architectural approach results in the fastest time-to-test and eliminates concerns associated with managing a potentially virus-prone operating system within the chassis.

Occupying 11 rack space units, the SPT-11U can handle up to 2 terabits of cloud traffic per second and features 12 slots, making it fully backward compatible with existing test modules. Moreover, its hot-swappable design allows for convenient module replacement. The SPT-11U client software can be easily downloaded from the chassis through a web interface. With dynamic automatic sync cable calibration, it enables synchronization of up to 255 chassis in a single test, facilitating large-scale testing scenarios. Intelligent fan control is a notable feature, as it adjusts cooling mechanisms based on environmental conditions and module load, ensuring optimal performance and temperature management.

The SPT-11U can support 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet connections (half/full duplex in 10/100 mode) to a PC, offering the flexibility of manual configuration or auto-negotiation for interface speed. Its 19" rack mountable design adheres to NEBS compliance standards and can accommodate up to 32 users per chassis. The SPT-11U incorporates a multi-threading design, a fan tray that is replaceable, as well as front and back panel indicator LEDs, enhancing usability. Furthermore, it includes a DB9 serial port and is equipped with 4 redundant multi switching power supplies, ensuring reliability and uninterrupted operation.
