The SPT-5000A by Spirent is a high-density chassis designed specifically for environments requiring a significant number of Ethernet ports while facing limited rack space. This chassis offers a total of 12 slots, capable of supporting individual or combined usage of up to 96 Ethernet ports operating at speeds of 10/100/1000 Mbps, or 12 ports running at 10GbE. By supporting small form factor modules, the SPT-5000A is ideal for high-volume production testing environments that are sensitive to space, where cost-effective, high-density Ethernet ports are necessary.

One notable feature of the SPT-5000A is its hot swap capabilities, enabling the replacement of devices while in full operation, facilitating ease of service for users. Moreover, multiple users can simultaneously utilize this chassis, maximizing hardware resource efficiency. Additionally, the high-speed backplane of the chassis reduces system upgrade times. It seamlessly integrates with TestCenter testing and analysis software applications. The SPT-5000A supports Network Timing Protocol (NTP), TIA/EIA-95B, Global Positioning System (GPS), external timing reference support, and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). Additionally, it provides 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet connections for host PC connectivity, allowing for configurable speed settings and auto-negotiation.
