The SR3420 by Spirent is a Hardware Platform Wireless Network Emulator designed to provide comprehensive testing capabilities for W-CDMA, GSM, and HSPA-enabled UE. This emulator adheres to the core technical specifications outlined by 3GPP, ensuring compatibility with the relevant air interfaces. It is available in two configurations: a 1 SRPM configuration and a 2 SRPM configuration. Notably, the SRPM card of the SR3420 supports Inter RAT test scenarios.
When employed with W-CDMA specifications, the SR3420 is capable of accurately identifying specific 3GPP W-CDMA capabilities. Similarly, when utilized with I/O specifications, this emulator can discern the necessary characteristics of the RF input and RF output. Moreover, when employed with infrastructure specifications, the emulator recognizes the required physical attributes, as well as the requirements pertaining to non-RF input and outputs, and AC power input. The front panel of the SR3420 emulator features a power switch, an emulator LED indicating the booting and powering-up process, and a controller LED confirming successful connections with controller applications. On the rear panel, users can find an AC power receptacle situated in the lower left corner, along with an Ethernet 3 RJ-45 type connector supporting TCP/IP.
One notable capability of the SR3420 is its compatibility with 8100 location technology, enabling the simulation of real-world satellite scenarios within a laboratory environment. This combination provides a versatile range of testing options to meet various needs and budgets, accommodating anything from bench-top functional testing to comprehensive standards-based certification and thorough performance analysis. The SR3420, when integrated with 8100 location technology, can be effectively employed in multiple applications, including research and development, conformance/certification testing, design verification, regression testing, performance analysis, benchmarking, mobile applications testing, acceptance testing, and pre-launch evaluation.
