The SR3462 by Spirent is a reliable and versatile 1xEV-DO network emulator designed to accurately replicate the behavior of 1xEV-DO Rev, 0/RevA/RevB, and eHRPD networks. This emulator possesses the capability to emulate multiple 1xEV-DO sectors, and it seamlessly interfaces with the access terminal under test through the RF converters integrated with the SR3452 CDMA network emulator. The connection between the SR3462 and the primary SR3452 is established through a sign-density digital connection.

Featuring a user-friendly front panel, the SR3462 incorporates two LED indicators that provide convenient status updates for users. The emulator LED conveys the operational state of the device, with a flashing LED indicating initialization, a steady green light indicating readiness for use, and a red light indicating a failed initialization process. The controller LED illuminates when the SR3462 communicates with the AirAccess C2K software running on the system controller PC. The rear panel of the emulator is equipped with various I/O connections, including Ethernet and 1xEV-DO digital baseband signals.

The SR3462 plays a crucial role in the AirAccess system by enabling an IS-856 AN configuration with one DO sector. In this setup, AirAccess 1xPLUS incorporates a single 1xEV-DO sector. The generated 1xEV-DO sector from the SR3462 can be easily configured to support either EV-DO Rev0 or EV-DO RevA protocols. Furthermore, in an AirAccess 1xPLUS system, two of these emulators are employed to achieve configurations such as IS-2000 BSC and IS-856 AN, IS-2000 BSC and IS-856 AN with Dual PDSN, IS-856 AN with 2 DO sectors, or TIA-856-B AN with 1 DO sector. For even more complex setups, a total of three SR3462 emulators can be utilized in an AirAccess system with IS-2000 BSC and TIA-856-B AN or IS-2000 BSC and TIA-856-B AN with Dual PDSN configurations.
