The SR5068 by Spirent is a test configuration unit (TCU) that serves as an essential component of the C2K-ATS test system. Designed to assess the performance of mobile receivers, this TCU offers a highly integrated and powerful solution. It operates under the control of a TASKIT/C2K, enabling automatic selection from a predefined list of test configurations. By eliminating the need for manual system configuration, the SR5068 significantly enhances test execution speed.

The primary function of the SR5068 within the C2K-ATS is to facilitate three main configurations of the Mobile Station-Base Station Link. In the first configuration, the SR5500 Spirent Wireless Channel Emulator introduces impairments in the forward path, while a Base Station Emulator handles all necessary signaling, communication protocols, Frame Error Rate (FER) performance evaluation, call initiation, and call reception of the mobile station. When combined with the TAS5048, the SR5068 enables automated switching of RF signal paths essential for 3G mobile device testing, supporting a variety of test cases provided by the TASKIT/C2K software. This level of flexibility allows the C2K-ATS to achieve extensive test coverage.

During the diagnostic procedure of the C2K-ATS, it is crucial to verify the proper functioning of the SR5068 and the correct configuration of RF cables. Failure to pass the verification test may indicate a lack of power supply to the TCU. To facilitate configuration, the SR5068 features two panels located in the lower-left section of the C2K-ATS window, each containing six switches. The TCU configuration can be accessed through menus situated under the Instruction Panel, allowing users to select standard paths determined by the TCU switches. Furthermore, the switch connections within the TCU path are set by the debugger following the selection of a debug step.
