The Spirent TCG-3000F is an advanced Abacus 5000 TCG3 subsystem, designed to emulate a telephone exchange or terminal by providing PCM circuits. This subsystem offers a comprehensive range of capabilities, including T3, E3, and G.747 call generation and switching. It also provides a full-duplex T3, E3, or G.747 (E1 over T3) circuit for TDM call generation and switching, complete with channel associated signaling (CAS). In call generation mode, the TCG-3000F handles call setup and teardown for each channel, executing a media script that involves transmitting and receiving audio signals and files.
During switching operations, the TCG-3000F routes calls to different channels based on the dialed number. This subsystem greatly simplifies the converged PSTN networks and services and IP telephony testing. It offers functional and performance testing for SS7, T.30 fax, V.90 data modem, clear channel, SCCP/TCAP/IN, and PSTN/IP ladder diagrams. The TCG-3000F finds utility in VoIP convergence applications, enabling the testing of convergence to VoIP devices, measuring one-way delay between TDM and VoIP devices, verifying the functionality of media and voice gateways, checking dial-up connectivity of voice traffic, assessing voice quality, and generating calls.
The TCG-3000F is also compatible with PBCs, switches, and central office applications, allowing traffic generation and capacity determination. This subsystem serves various applications in transmission equipment, channel banks, and multiplexers. It facilitates the verification of transmission quality, the reception and transmission of account codes, the creation of traffic to leave messages, and the replaying of messages. Additionally, in switching applications, it enables the switching of interfaces to other compatible interfaces. The TCG-3000F delivers TDM call generation and switching functionality and can be configured to provide one PCM circuit with 672 channels at the T3 rate, one PCM circuit with 480 channels at the E3 rate, or one PCM circuit with 630 channels at the T3 rate (G.747 mode).
The TCG-3000F supports the G.747 specification, allowing for 21 E1 links carried over the T3 stream. This subsystem offers an array of features, including a full-duplex circuit, built-in protocol analyzers, and the ability to support custom protocols. It allows for programming call progress tones, measuring voice quality and fax performance within a single script, and facilitating message support in PRI. With impressive performance capabilities, the TCG-3000F can generate over 900,000 calls per hour and switch over 450,000 calls per hour. The program test duration can be either random or fixed, and the subsystem automatically and continuously collects results, presenting them to the user in the form of graphs or tables.
