These core and edge routers for networks that must deliver services like voice and live video that are very sensitive to end-to-end latency and jitter. The WAN-2002A module is the ideal solution for verifying the performance and functionality of next-generation edge and core routers, ensuring they meet the requirements for quality of service (QoS) in order to deliver optimal service. One of the notable features of the WAN-2002A is its bi-directional control protocol decoding capability, enabling users to analyze and separate various real-time packet header fields. This module's high-performance per port CPU allows for testing of IPv4 and IPv6 MPLS and routing protocols. Real-time measurements and reports include packet loss, bit errors, latency, re-sequencing, and Metro Ethernet Forum-specified jitter streams.

The WAN-2002A can transmit 32k test streams and receive 64k test streams per port, facilitating quick setup and traffic generation of billions of flows. Its versatility extends to various applications, including router capacity testing, characterization of line rate forwarding behavior, injection of routing protocol messages, characterization of DUT forwarding capability, and testing of router interfaces, Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN, multicast, and Internet routing. The WAN-2002A also features "White box" test capability, enabling integration with the Device Under Test (DUT) to obtain accurate information for post-test analysis. With its smaller lab footprint, this module offers cost savings and a flexible design with a pluggable Personality Board and transceiver design.
