The Spirent XCG-3000F is a cutting-edge Abacus 5000 XCG3 subsystem designed to replicate the functionality of analog exchanges. It offers analog circuit emulation, call generation, and switching capabilities to accurately simulate the Central Office (CO) side of analog 2-wire circuits, complete with 14 analog lines per interface (FXS ports). Each analog channel within the XCG-3000F supports a single communication channel and can be configured as an originating (calling party) or terminating (called party) channel.
The XCG-3000F allows users to simulate a wide range of analog testing applications, including North American, European, and international analog 2-wire interfaces. This subsystem delivers significant benefits by simplifying testing of PSTN/analog networks, services, and converged IP telephony. It enables comprehensive performance and functional testing for analog, T.30 fax, and V.34 analog data modem technologies. By providing a unified user interface for testing functions, this subsystem facilitates cost savings and enhances overall efficiency. The XCG-3000F finds practical utility in VoIP convergence applications, allowing for verification of voice and media gateways, assessment of voice quality, and verification of dial-up connectivity.
The XCG-3000F supports FTTP, PON, and VoIP applications for analog exchange call generation in ONT-FXS port testing and ONT-OLT end-to-end one-way delay measurement scenarios. This subsystem seamlessly integrates with various communication systems and equipment, including PBXs, switches, central offices, transmission equipment, channel banks, and multiplexers. It is also compatible with voicemail and voice response detection applications. Key features of the XCG-3000F include the provision of ring voltage, -48 VDC, and dial tone, as well as the ability to generate over 20,000 calls per hour per subsystem. It offers programmable protocol state machine capabilities, selectable impedances and analog gains, 14 two-wire circuits, and analog FXS support.
The XCG-3000F’s robust hardware includes a 32-bit processor, DSP, and flash memory, ensuring powerful computing and upgrade capabilities. Additional functionalities comprise pulse dialing detection, battery reversal and denial, and flexible call sequences. The XCG-3000F can generate caller ID and metering pulses, verify the establishment and retention of a speech path during a call, and perform voice quality measurements. The compatible XCI3 and XCI3RJ rear cards feature a ring generator, while the system continuously collects and presents results in graph or table formats for easy analysis. Echo measurements, call tracer (ladder diagram for Analog), interface by country, load profiling (saw tooth, rectangle, trapezoid, and poisson), and end-to-end testing with other Abacus systems are also features of this subsystem.
